“Don’t you dare give up, Girl.”

December 7, 2008 by howe

I attended a special workshop for businesswomen not too long ago. There were probably 200 women in the room.  As a way of getting the group warmed up and talking to each other, the facilitator spoke about the strength, determination, and vitality of women. Then she asked us to turn to the women sitting on either side of us and say, “Don’t you dare give up, Girl.”

It was a simple little exercise that was very powerful – to both give and receive these words of encouragement, and to hear 200 women embolden each other.

So … if you’re out there and feeling a little down and out, don’t you dare give up, Girl.

And if you know someone else who is feeling a little down and out, well, you know what to tell her.

And if the holidays have really gotten to her and she needs a little extra something to remember just how powerful she is, help her write her Roar story and submit it at http://www.hear-us-roar.com/tell-your-story/.  Yes, the deadline has officially passed, but we’re leaving the database open while we review the 84 stories we’ve received to date. Only 16 more to go to reach our goal of 100!
