A Stake in the Ground
I’m sitting here surround by stories. They’re all over my 8×10 living room rug.
I’ve just put a stake in the ground by selecting 28 stories for the first Hear Us Roar! publication. It was really hard for me, gigantic Myers-Briggs “F” that I am who hates to exclude anyone and struggles to make simple, rationally-based decisions.
Why 28? Seemed like the right number — not too many, not too few. Plus my friend Kay told me that the number 28 represents new beginnings, creative forces, and moving out into the world. That resonates.
These first 28 fit into four final categories: Perseverance, Authenticity, Faith, and Generosity. We could create a whole book on the Perseverance theme alone (and just might) as there were so many great stories to choose from in that category. Some of the others are in new piles, grouped by new categories that have emerged for subsequent books — themes like self-love and innate wisdom, and specific topics like motherhood and sexual assault.
All Roar authors will be receiving a personal email shortly about where we go from here.
The journey continues …

I do not envy your JOB of catagorizing, naming, picking and choosing, but I admire your tenacity and I know that it’s a great beginning of a series of ROARING! GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!
